On June 25th the Ladybirds Barbershop Harmony Singers performed for a group of senior citizens at the Cumberland Arms Apartments. This was a new venue for most of the group, and everyone was excited to be invited to that location, as two of our members live there.

The audience was very receptive and participated in a sing along, which was held midway through the program. Volunteers from the audience even came up front and helped sing Old MacDonald Had A Farm. They were all very good sports!

On May 20, 2006, the Ladybirds sang for the South Businessmen’s Fun Festival held at Smith Park. The day was beautiful and sunny, but the wind was fierce. Other entertainers had it harder than the Ladybirds, though, as they had to deal with instruments and sheet music, etc. At least the Ladybirds have no extra “baggage” to worry about. The wind did cause their sound to dissipate quickly, though. Members of the audience complimented the singers for a job well done.
