One of the Ladybirds, Helen Price, turned 90 years old on July 2, 2006! The Ladybirds and many friends and relatives attended a birthday party in Helen’s honor. The party was hosted by Helen’s family, and there must have been close to 150 people attending the party during its four-hour duration.

Helen was very pleased to have the Ladybirds sing several songs, including Happy Birthday, We Sing Our Hearts Out, and I’m Still Havin’ Fun. The community room of the Cumberland Arms Apartments was the venue for the party. Refreshments included veggies and dip, fresh fruit, chips, candies and, of course, birthday cake!

Helen received various presents, though guests were told that their “presence” at the party was Helen’s gift. One of the Ladybirds, Dolores Stone, presented Helen with a bright pink T-shirt with her name printed on the front and “I’m Still Havin’ Fun at 90″ on the back. Helen got out of her Redskins shirt to wear her new “birthday” shirt. She also sported a lovely birthday tiara. One of the family members had prepared a slideshow of pictures illustrating Helen’s life. This was displayed on a laptop computer for all to see. What a nice celebration for this lovely lady who has experienced so much in her action-packed lifetime.
