The Ladybirds were invited to sing for the public picnic held by LeRoy Myers, Republican delegate to the state of Maryland. The picnic, which featured free food for all attendees, including many governmental delegates and representatives, was held at the Allegany Fair Grounds in their newly-constructed building. One of the Ladybirds, Helen Price, turned 90 years old on July 2, 2006! The Ladybirds and many friends and relatives attended a birthday party in Helen’s honor. The party was hosted by Helen’s family, and there must have been close to 150 people attending the party during its four-hour duration.
Helen was very pleased to have the Ladybirds sing several songs, including Happy Birthday, We Sing Our Hearts Out, and I’m Still Havin’ Fun. The community room of the Cumberland Arms Apartments was the venue for the party. Refreshments included veggies and dip, fresh fruit, chips, candies and, of course, birthday cake!
The Ladybirds are a member of
