Shirley Carson Update

Posted in News on Monday, April 23, 2007

We are so happy to report that Shirley Carson has been home from the hospital for just over a week now. She is doing quite well and hopes to return to regular rehearsals this coming week. She was very weak when she first got home and her friend Erma Robertson spent several nights with her; Shirley discovered early on that she could get up and to the bathroom on her own and that she could manage to get up and down the seven steps that separate her living room from the rest of her apartment. She has been going up and down those steps three or four times a day. That’s good exercise for her. Also, she plans to take her walker and go up to the grounds of the Red Cross, next door to her house, and do some walking to strengthen her leg muscles.

Shirley is so happy to be back at home; she is very appreciative of all the cards, prayers, phone calls, gifts, visitations, and especially the two-volume scrapbook given to her by the Ladybirds.

Shirley has three doctors appointments coming up late this week and the next week; she will be anxious to see how they feel she is progressing and whether or not she can start driving, going out and getting involved in her usual lifestyle once again.

Hi, Rhonda -

This is Ellie Batchelor. I’ve met you, but you may not remember me. Your Grammy no longer has her computer, but I will see that she sees your message on the Ladybirds site. She’s doing quite well, except that she desperately needs to have that hip replaced so she can get around easier. I know she’ll be excited to see your message. Thanks for posting.
