Ladybirds & Lorelei Plans
In the near future, a joint meeting of the two choruses, Ladybirds and Lorelei, will be held in Centerville, Pennsylvania. In preparation for this event, three members of the Ladybirds Chorus met the director of the Lorelei Chorus in Bedford for a dinner at the Arena Restaurant in Bedford, Pennsylvania.
The foursome met shortly after 5 p.m. and enjoyed a delicious meal and a productive conversation, during which the program for the joint meeting was discussed. It was decided that individuals from both choruses will bring refreshments for the evening—finger foods, for the most part—such foodstuffs to include: vegetables and dip, fruit, cheese and crackers, nuts, mints, cookies, etc. Feel free to bring finger foods of your choice, ladies.
The singing will begin almost immediately upon arrival at The Grange in Centerville. Each chorus will perform a selection or two of their own; then the two choruses will sing several numbers together. Perhaps, the Ladybirds will teach Lorelei members a tag or so and Doo-Bee Doo. Delores (Dee) Stepfey, director of Lorelei, expressed interest in a closing number to be used at the conclusion of their singouts, and maybe they would enjoy Sing Your Way Home.
The Ladybirds performance will definitely include The Irish Blessing and at least one of our show tunes. Together, the groups will probably sing San Francisco Bay Blues, I’m Still Havin’ Fun, We Sing Our Hearts Out, and Love That Old Barbershop Style (Last Gal).
That’s where the plans are as of this printing, but input from the membership of the group will be solicited and changes will be made accordingly.
