Valentine’s With the Ladybirds
The Ladybirds had a great time practicing for the Valentine’s Day performances, though the main program for the chorus was canceled. We understand that we will be rescheduled in the near future, but of course Valentine’s will not be in vogue then.
Afternoon Delight met at Shirley Carson’s house and called a number of people who had ordered Singing Valentine’s Day greetings for their loved ones. The recipients of the calls were delighted with their musical valentine, and it was fun for the Afternoon Delight Quartet to make these people happy!

The Ladybirds at When Pigs Fly
Later that night, after approval by all chorus members, the group met at When Pigs Fly to have a Valentine’s Day Party for themselves - this, instead of the regular Thursday night rehearsal. There were over twenty members present. The entire evening was so much fun and so relaxing, that as people finished their meals, nobody seemed to want to get up and go home. It was simply too much fun to be together, to joke and laugh and sing and talk with each other.
One interesting situation that was gratifying to hear was that one of the ladies left her wallet on the table at the restaurant. When she realized she didn’t have her wallet when she got home, she called the restaurant and inquired if anyone had found it. Surprisingly, the answer was, “Yes, it’s here.” She was told that the bus boy had turned it in when she inquired at the time she picked up the wallet. She left a tip for the honest bus boy, who had redeemed her faith in human nature. She was delighted to get the wallet back with everything still in it! Happy ending!
Another incident that happened that evening, though, wasn’t so nice. One of the ladies fell down and cracked her tail bone. She is still suffering a great deal of pain from that accident. We hope the injury heals quickly and that the suffering will soon be over.
